This Sencha is organically grown without pesticides or chemicals to JAS, or Japan Agricultural Standards. Sencha is the most common Japanese tea. It has a unique processing method where the fresh-picked leaves are immediately deep steamed before drying, rather than withered before drying (which would be like traditional Chinese green tea). This results to the tea’s greener color and richer and smoother taste. Afterwards, the leaves are heated to remove excess moisture.
